Gainesville’s Xylitone Brings Local Flare alongside of Montreal

By ALYSSA HOLCOMB (aka Aly V)

Gainesville trio Xylitone will add some local indie style alongside of Montreal for a sold out show tonight, Tuesday, September 24th, in the University of Florida’s Rion Ballroom at the Reitz Union.

The group, composed of vocalist/rhythm guitarist Tepu Khan, bassist Brent Billington, and keyboardist Bryant Nguyen, are all Gators (both students and grads). Music from their EP Live To Be Lost has been featured on ROCK104.com’s “Locals Only”, with songs including “Skyhigh” and their latest single “Reinvent”.

Mixing indie pop with stadium rock, the band is poised to bring light, soaring vocals and rhythmic beats to all audiences.

I sat down with Khan (aka TK) for a segment on September 23rd’s “Locals Only” to talk about the show, the EP, plans for the future, and even that infamous “If you could play with anyone…” question! Stream the interview segment (including three songs) here:
