AUDIO: Listen HERE!

On the 85th edition of the Power Pop Portal, we pay tribute to three events happening this week: First, it’s the 50th anniversary of the week that The Beatles made history as the only act ever to simultaneously occupy the Billboard Hot 100 chart’s entire top five positions! That happened on the chart dated April 4, 1964. Not only did they occupy the top five, but they held seven other positions as well and we’ll count down all of them!

Second, the 29th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place on Thursday, April 10th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. We’ll hear from all of this year’s Inductees: Peter Gabriel, Daryl Hall and John Oates, KISS, Nirvana, Linda Ronstadt, and Cat Stevens; as well as Ahmet Ertegun Award for Lifetime Achievement Inductees Brian Epstein and Andrew Loog Oldham; and Award for Musical Excellence Inductee, The E Street Band.

Finally, April 5th marked the 20th anniversary of Nirvana front-man, Kurt Cobain’s death.
