Playlist for Sunday, 8/12/12 (All-UK Edition)

Tonight was the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games in a program called, “A Symphony of British Music.” There were many British music icons, including Madness, Blur, Kaiser Chiefs, Paul Weller (of The Jam), Ray Davies (of The Kinks), Liam Gallagher (of Oasis), the reunited-for-a-night Spice Girls, Annie Lennox (of Eurythmics & The Tourists), Kate Bush, Elton John, George Michael, Pet Shop Boys, One Direction, Take That, Adele, Fatboy Slim, Muse, Queen, and The Who. We won’t be hearing from all of them (thank goodness, though I was very tempted to play the Spice Girls…), but we’ll hear most of the ones you’d expect, plus a few of my UK faves thrown in the mix. Cheers, mate! ~Glenn Richards
